NCB Stockbrokers of Ireland has named Christopher Wheeler is new head of bank equity research, eFinancial News reports. Wheeler previously served as a former senior analyst at Bear Stearns.

NCB, founded by Irish entrepreneur Dermot Desmond, was bought by its management from Royal Bank of Scotland in 2004.

It is based in London and Dublin; employs 180 people, and has a 30% share of turnover on the Irish Stock Exchange. It is linked into the European Securities Network alongside nine other brokers including Equinet in Germany and Danske Securities in Scandinavia.
