Futures broker, Newedge Financial, will become a futures commission merchant (FCM) for electronic futures exchange, ELX Futures, The Wall Street Journal reports. ELX Futures will launch on July 10 as a live platform to trade U.S. Treasury futures contracts.
ELX Futures received approval May 27 from the Commodity Futures Trading Commission to become a designated contract market, with Options Clearing Corporation as its clearing house. Newedge offers clearing and execution services to more than 85 futures, options and equities exchanges.
